Equal access to aircrafts from groundlevel for all passengers.

Equal access to aircrafts from groundlevel for all passengers.
On my homepage:
www.123hjemmeside.no/thjomoe , and on the page «Mobile Airbridge», you will find a description and a video of an universal designed unit made for this purpose. I do believe  this will cover an undescribed international demand regarding access to different types of aircrafts when remote parking and bussing of passengers are necessary. It will handle arcrafts with doorsill heights from 1,5 to 3,7 meters

The main facilities are as follows:
1. It replaces the mobile stairs beeing used today at remote parked aircrafts.

2 . It includes a lift as a substitute for different types of handicaplifts.

3. As shown in the video, it can be used as a substitute for a cateringloader.

4. There will be sufficient space for cabin cleaning equipment and a wheelchair or maybe two folding wheelchairs.

5. Depending of customers demand, the unit may be equipped with 400 hz ground power supplied through converter from the main ionbattery pack.
By this redusing contamination from a running  APU or groundpower unit.

6. Likewise the unit may hold a heat pump/ventilation system for aircrafts during groundstop or early morning heating.

7. This unit is supposed to be run and operated/served by only one skilled person.

8.To make the unit easy to operate within cramped areas, the following equipment should be considered installed in the unit.

As of today (2022) el-drive and steering-axles are available in the market, making four-wheel drive and steering, including crab-steering, possible.

Steering wheels may be installed to include front or rear operation without any mechanical links between steering-wheels and axles.

Inching-control for movement towards aircraft is considered nessecary to avoid aircraft damage.

Windload stability must bee calculated by customer for the nessesity of stabilizers.

My first ideas and sketches of universal designed walkingbridges was presented for actual persons, handicaporganization,Norways Department of transport, aviation companies and Avinor from 2002 and onwards, later also on my home page.

A new directive for universal norwegian airports was valid 19 July 2013, meaning that each airport are responsible for the assistant service at their airport.

Sola airport was the first with bridges linked to the terminalbuilding. Later have all bigger airports in Norway more or less the same equipment.
«The Worlds First Bridge» from groundlevel was presented in England 18/1-2011.(LINK ). An improved english bridge came to Molde som time ago and some more are ordered, I have heard. The smaller airports have been equipped with «Stairclimbers» which are not being approved by the handicaporganizations.

Internationally, most of  the bigger airports do not have space for more or larger terminalbuildings. Lack of space at the terminalbridges results in more «Remote parking» of aircrafts with bussing of passengers between planes and terminals.
As an example, Schiphol airport have invested in 40 new batterybuses for this purpose.
( NB,These buses get their power from solarpanels resulting in a cleaner airport).

A driveable bridge as described above, is not yet available in the market. In Norway, the marked is too small to stake on such expensive equipment, but internationally, I am convinced there is a latent demand for this, just waiting for a producer to be a supplyer!

I hope and belive that somewhere in the western part of Norway, there will be a
manufacturing Company or a Group of companies, able and willing to capture this opportunity. All necessary «off the shelf items» are available and  together with some sub suppliers, it should be possible to put together such an unit, resulting in many new exciting jobs.

As an example, I will mention a small danish company ( 10 employees) that started development of aircraft de-icers in 1984. In 2012 there was 260 employed at eight worldwide places with a turrnover of 570 mill. DKR and a balance of profit like 72 mill kr. Per to day -2016, they have delivered more than 1000 units, and remember:
These De-icers are made solely for winter operation, while the bridges I introduce are ment to be used throughout the whole year at all remote parked air crafts all over the world.

I will also mention that I have the names of more than 200 potential customers representing several hundred airports. I am also able to suggest several potential supplyers of suitable «off the shelf items» to be able to build a complete new ground handling unit like described.
